Custom Printed RSC Box – Learn What It Is
If you are looking for a packaging solution that allows you to properly protect your product while displaying your business logo, a custom printed RSC box may be the best choice for you. This popular selection has had success in packaging a variety of items, and it is a common choice for businesses. In order to determine if this type of box is right for you, it is important that you learn more about this and other slotted containers.
Custom Printed RSC Box: Regular Slotted Containers (RSC)
An RSC is the most common style of box used today. With this box, all of the flaps are the same length, and the two flaps on the outside are half of the container width. When this type of box is folded, these outer flaps will meet at the box center. If your product needs an even, flat bottom surface, you can include fill-in pads between the two flaps, or you can tape the flaps together with a heavy packaging adhesive. This can also be done if you need two-layer protection for your products.
The custom RSC box features an efficient design that is useful for many different applications. These boxes come in a variety of sizes, making them useful for most products. As an added benefit, the production of custom RSC boxes results in little to no manufacturing waste.
Custom Printed RSC Box: Other Slotted Containers
While you may be set on using a custom RSC box to package your products, it is important to note that there are also other types of slotted boxes available:
- Overlapped Slotted Container (OSC): With this box, all of the flaps are the same length, but those on the outsides may overlap by an inch or even more. They are closed easily, but staples are usually needed to attach the overlapping area. This box is most commonly used when the box length needs to be much greater than its width, so that a long gap will appear in between the flaps.
- Center Specially Slotted Container (CSSC): With this box, the outer and inner flaps will be cut at different lengths, but both pairs will meet in the box center. This style is strong because of the doubled thickness found at the bottom and top.
- Full Overlapped Slotted Container (FOL): With this box, all flaps are an identical length. It is a great option if you are concerned about rough handling, as the overlapped flaps can provide added thickness, stacking strength, and cushioning.
